A crossroads hamlet in South Coventry Township, near French Creek and Route 100. Roof work for old village houses and the farms around them.
Pughtown is a hamlet at the crossroads in South Coventry Township, in the rolling ground between Route 100 and French Creek. It is small: a few dozen older houses at the intersection, farm properties along the roads out, and newer homes on parcels carved from what used to be fields. The township runs to just a few thousand people, and the road network is mostly its own.
We do the same work here as anywhere: tear-off to the deck, board repair, ice-and-water membrane at the eaves and valleys, new flashing, and attic ventilation that actually moves air. Small place, same rules. The permit and the inspection come from South Coventry Township under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code, not from Chester County.

This corner of the county swings back and forth across freezing all winter, and each cycle opens sealed laps, lifts nail heads and widens gaps at flashing.
Membrane along the eaves is the defense when meltwater backs up behind ice.
Repeated freezing loosens fasteners and opens laps, which is why sealant repairs fail.
Older board sheathing hides soft spots that only show once the roof is off.

Same office, same crews, a short drive away.
Yes. Population has nothing to do with it: South Coventry Township administers the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code for every property inside its borders, Pughtown included. We apply, schedule the inspection and leave you with the closed permit, which matters when you eventually sell the house.
Sealant is a temporary bridge over a detail that is not built right, and freeze-thaw movement pulls it apart within a season or two. The durable repair is metal in the right place: step flashing, counter flashing, a proper valley or a new boot at the pipe. We would rather do that once.
Spring through fall is easiest, because shingles seal properly in warmer weather. Winter work is possible and sometimes necessary, and we hand-seal where temperatures are low. If your roof is limping, planning it for the shoulder season beats an emergency tarp in February.
All of Chester County, from the Wayne office at (267) 692-2511. A smaller roof in a rural township is a normal day’s work for us, not an inconvenience, and we schedule nearby jobs together where we can. Residential roof replacement is the core of what we do in this market.
