Two Aston Township villages of postwar houses that went up close together. Roof replacement timed to how they were built.
Village Green and Green Ridge are two named villages inside Aston Township, grouped together as one census place. The housing is mostly postwar suburban: ranchers, split-levels, twins and later townhouse groups filling in what used to be mill land and farm ground along Chester Creek. Streets went up in runs, which means roofs went on in runs too.
When one house on a block needs a roof, the neighbors usually do as well, and we will say so plainly rather than pretend otherwise. We quote each house on its own decking, ventilation and flashing condition. Permits for roof work here are issued by Aston Township under the PA Uniform Construction Code.

Shingle, tile, metal and flat roofing for homes and townhomes across the area.
Shingle, tile, metal, flat and TPO. Managed from tear-off to cleanup.
Flat, TPO and metal systems, with maintenance programs that protect the asset.
Storm damage, active leaks and fallen trees, with 24/7 phone response.
Twenty-five year shingles installed across a subdivision in one season reach the end of their service life in one season too, and the failures look identical.
Many roofs here are on their second layer, which changes how we plan the tear-off.
Rear additions and carport roofs often need EPDM or TPO rather than shingle.
Ridge and soffit airflow checked on houses that were built with very little of it.

From Aston Township. Pennsylvania handles construction permits at the municipal level under the Uniform Construction Code, so the township office is the one that issues and inspects, not the county. Because Village Green-Green Ridge is a census place rather than a municipality, Aston Township is your authority.
It is worth an inspection, not a panic. Houses built in the same year with the same shingle tend to wear out together, so a cluster of replacements on one block is normal rather than alarming. An inspection tells you whether you have two years left or ten.
Sometimes it is allowed, but we rarely recommend it. A layover hides soft decking, adds weight and shortens the life of the new shingle, and it makes proper flashing at walls and valleys much harder. Full tear-off costs more up front and is usually the cheaper roof over twenty years.
Algae. It grows on the shaded north and east slopes where moisture sits longest, and it stains the granules without doing structural harm. Cleaning helps for a while; on a replacement we use shingles with algae-resistant granules so the streaking takes much longer to come back.
