A rural township along Ridge Road near the Perkiomen headwaters, with Tylersport at its center. Straightforward roof work, plainly priced.
Salford Township is one of the smaller municipalities in upper Montgomery County, drained by the Perkiomen Creek and crossed on a northeast to southwest line by Route 563 along Ridge Road. Tylersport and Naceville are the named settlements. Housing is low density and almost entirely detached: older frame and stone houses near the crossroads, newer single homes on wide lots between the fields.
There is no borough office to visit and no association to satisfy out here, which simplifies matters. We inspect, photograph what we find, and give you one price covering tear-off, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and cleanup. Roofing permits for township addresses are issued by Salford Township under the PA Uniform Construction Code.

Exposure changes house by house out here, with wind-driven rain on the open lots and slow-drying, moss-prone slopes wherever the woodlots crowd the roofline.
Houses fronting open farmland lose shingles at the rakes and ridges before anywhere else.
Slopes hemmed by woodlots stay wet, and moss works its way under the shingle butts.
Standing-seam on porches and bay roofs needs seams and fasteners addressed, not sealed over.
Salford Township issues the roofing permit under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code.
Same office, same crews, a short drive away.
Salford Township. Pennsylvania delegates the Uniform Construction Code to the municipality, so the township handles the permit and the inspection, and Montgomery County plays no part in it. We submit the application with the scope of work and coordinate the inspection timing so the job is not held up waiting on paperwork.
Not automatically. On open ground like this, wind usually strips a band along a rake or the ridge while the rest of the roof holds. If the shingles are still pliable and the sealant strips elsewhere are intact, a matched repair is honest work. If the field is brittle across the whole slope, replacement is the better spend.
Yes. A house that has grown over two centuries commonly carries asphalt on the main roof, standing-seam metal on a porch or bay, and a low-slope section over a rear ell. Each needs its own system and, more importantly, a proper transition where it meets the next. That junction is where these houses leak.
