Canal villages at Mont Clare and Port Providence, big new roofs at Oaks and Rivercrest. Roofing in Upper Providence, at both ends of it.
Upper Providence sits in the bend of the Schuylkill with the Perkiomen along its other edge, and it has grown harder than almost anywhere in the county. Mont Clare and Port Providence are still canal villages, tight houses near Lock 60. Everything from Oaks up through Rivercrest and Black Rock is newer and much larger, and those roofs carry a lot of hips, dormers, bump-outs and valleys.
Complicated geometry is where roofs leak, so that is where the money goes: metal or properly woven valleys, step flashing up every dormer cheek, kickout flashing at the wall terminations, and boots that will not be the first thing to fail. Permits for all of it run through Upper Providence Township under the PA Uniform Construction Code.

The large houses built here over the last twenty-five years concentrate water into a few intersections, and the details at those points decide how long the roof lasts.
Without a kickout, wall water runs behind the siding instead of into the gutter.
Step flashing up a dormer cheek must be layered in, never surface-sealed.
Two large slopes meeting send heavy volume through one valley in a downpour.

It is a small diverter at the bottom of a roof-to-wall junction that throws water into the gutter instead of behind the siding. Many houses built through the 1990s and 2000s do not have one, and the rot shows up inside the wall years later. We add it during replacement.
By Upper Providence Township, if your parcel is in the township. Collegeville, Royersford and Phoenixville are separate municipalities whose postal names reach across the line, so we verify the parcel and then file with Upper Providence under the PA Uniform Construction Code.
Valleys wear fastest because they carry water from two slopes at once. Granule loss there long before the rest of the field is normal, and it can often be rebuilt with open metal instead of replacing everything. We check the deck under it before deciding.
The roof itself, not much; the drying time, yes. Low ground along the Schuylkill and the Perkiomen holds humidity, so ventilation and underlayment choices matter more, and debris from riverside trees loads the valleys. We size the ventilation for the site, not the catalog.
