Mansfield Township’s village center, where Route 206 once ran up Atlantic Avenue. Storm damage here is rarely visible from the driveway.
Columbus is the village center of Mansfield Township, where the township offices sit and where Route 206 once ran straight up Atlantic Avenue before a bypass took it around the downtown in the late 1950s. The settlement was called Black Horse, after a tavern, until about 1827. The village core is eighteenth and nineteenth century, and farmland plus later subdivisions carry the rest of the addresses around it.
Summer here brings hail and straight-line wind, and the damage is often invisible from the ground. We go up, photograph slope by slope, and tell you plainly whether you are looking at bruised mats and creased tabs or at ordinary granule loss that can wait a few years. Permits are issued by the Mansfield Township construction office under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

Same office, same crews, a short drive away.
By having someone walk it. Hail damage on asphalt looks like a soft bruise in the mat with granules knocked clear, often only on the slopes facing the storm. Loose granules in the gutter alone prove nothing, since every roof sheds granules as it ages, so the test is what the mat looks like.
It depends on what is actually there. Scattered creased tabs on an otherwise sound roof are a repair, while widespread bruising across several slopes on a roof already fifteen or twenty years old is a replacement. We photograph it and give you the honest version rather than pushing one answer.
No, and it does not need one, because Columbus is where the Mansfield Township offices already are. The Mansfield Township construction office issues the roofing permit for Columbus addresses under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, and Burlington County has no role in a residential re-roof.
Yes, mostly in the details. Houses in the village core have steeper pitch, taller chimneys and more porch and wing roofs than the subdivisions outside it, so there is more flashing and less open field. We price from what your house actually has rather than by square footage alone.
