The Army side of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, spanning two townships. On-base housing and off-base houses are handled differently.
Fort Dix is the Army component of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and the census area carrying that name spans New Hanover Township and Pemberton Township. Housing on the installation is managed by the base and its privatized housing partner, so a roof there is not a homeowner’s decision and not a municipal permit. The houses we work on are the privately owned ones off the installation, in the townships around the gates.
If you own the house, the process is ordinary. We measure, quote, tear off to the deck, membrane the eaves, and lay architectural asphalt. The permit goes to whichever township your address actually sits in, New Hanover or Pemberton, under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Confirm that first, because the municipal line runs through this area.
The full Maze Roofing range, residential and commercial, from the local team.
Shingle, tile, metal and flat roofing for homes and townhomes across the area.
Shingle, tile, metal, flat and TPO. Managed from tear-off to cleanup.
Flat, TPO and metal systems, with maintenance programs that protect the asset.
Storm damage, active leaks and fallen trees, with 24/7 phone response.
Base housing is handled through the installation and its housing partner, while a privately owned house a mile outside the gate is a township permit and an ordinary replacement.
Privately owned houses in the townships around the installation, quoted normally.
Flat cleared land gives wind a straight run at ridge and rake.
A set start date rather than an open window, so plans hold.
New Hanover or Pemberton Township issues the permit, depending on your address.
Same office, same crews, a short drive away.
No, and nobody outside the installation can. Housing on the joint base is maintained by the base and its privatized housing partner, so the request goes through your housing office rather than to a contractor. If you own a house off the installation, that is a different matter and we are glad to look at it.
Either New Hanover Township or Pemberton Township, depending on exactly where the property sits, because the Fort Dix area spans both. New Jersey construction permits are municipal, so we confirm the address against the municipal line before filing under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.
It lifts edges. With the land cleared and flat, gusts reach the ridge cap, the rake edges and the first course at the eave with nothing to slow them, and that is where shingles go rather than out of the middle of a slope. We set fastening and starter courses for that exposure.
Usually, if we know early. We schedule these jobs with a firm start rather than a vague window, and a straightforward replacement on a house this size is a matter of days, not weeks. Call the Cherry Hill office at (856) 519-0640 and we will tell you honestly what is available.
