A borough that started as a lake town and filled in around it. Roof replacement on cottage-era houses and post-war blocks alike.
Clementon grew up around its lake and the amusement grounds beside it, which left an unusual mix for a borough of five thousand. Some of the older houses started as summer cottages and were winterized piece by piece, with additions at odd pitches and porches enclosed decades later. Around them sit post-war Capes, ranches and rental blocks off the White Horse Pike.
Houses that grew by addition need the roof read as a whole before anything is quoted. We map the pitch changes, find the buried valleys, and price the low-slope sections as their own system rather than pretending shingle will hold. The construction permit and the inspection come from Clementon Borough’s construction office under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

A house extended three times over eighty years has three roof pitches and at least two buried transitions, and those transitions are where the water gets in.
Old rooflines swallowed by later additions leave valleys hidden under the shingle.
Porch roofs turned into rooms rarely got the flashing the new wall actually needed.
Damp air near the lake keeps north slopes streaked and slow to dry after rain.
Clementon Borough’s construction office issues the roof permit and performs the final inspection.
Same office, same crews, a short drive away.
Not by itself, but each change of pitch is a joint, and joints are where roofs leak. We look at how each transition was built and whether there is metal underneath or just shingle folded over. On a replacement those junctions get rebuilt properly, which is usually where the real value is.
From Clementon Borough. The borough’s construction office issues the permit under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and inspects the work when it is finished. Camden County is not involved. We file the application and handle the inspection appointment as part of the job.
Not if it is genuinely low slope. Shingles rely on gravity and will hold water at every lap on a near-flat deck. That section wants EPDM or TPO membrane, flashed up under the sloped roof above it, and it can be done at the same time as the main roof.
Dark streaking on a damp slope is usually algae rather than failure, and it is common on houses near water. Check whether the shingles still have granule cover and whether the edges lie flat. If they do, you are looking at a cosmetic problem rather than a structural one.
