The Echelon area of Voorhees runs heavily to townhouses and condominium groups, where an association usually has a say before any shingle comes off.
Echelon is a section of Voorhees Township, named for the mall that anchored it, and it is the densest part of the township. Alongside single-family streets there are large townhouse and condominium communities, Mews at Echelon and Echelon Village among them, built mostly from the 1970s through the 1990s. In attached housing the roof is often shared, and so is the decision about it.
We are used to working that way. We provide the product line, color and warranty documentation a board or management company needs, quote from a scope that covers a full building rather than one unit, and stage the work so residents keep their parking. The construction permit comes from the Voorhees Township construction office under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

When a roof spans several units, replacing it in pieces leaves seams between old and new work exactly where the building is least forgiving.
Boards usually need the product, color and warranty in writing before work begins.
A roof over several units is priced and installed as one continuous system.
Attic spaces divided by firewalls each need their own intake and exhaust.
Echelon is in Voorhees Township, whose construction office issues the roofing permit.

Ask every bidder for the shingle line and its wind rating, what flashing and underlayment are included, whether soffit intake is being opened, and the warranty in writing. Ask how many buildings per mobilization. Those answers explain most of the price spread a board will see.
We do, through the Voorhees Township construction office under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Echelon is part of Voorhees Township, not a separate municipality. For multi-unit buildings we confirm the scope with the association first so the permit matches what is actually being done.
Sometimes the documents allow it and often they do not, and technically it is the weaker option. A seam between new and old work over a firewall is a leak waiting to happen. If one section must be done alone, we detail the termination carefully and document it for the association.
Corners and rakes see the highest uplift in a sustained blow, and end units take it from two directions. Starter strip at the rakes, the correct nailing pattern and a high wind-rated shingle are what hold. We upgrade perimeter detailing on exposed buildings as a matter of course.
