Gibbstown is the main settlement of Greenwich Township, on the Delaware just downriver from Paulsboro. It is a working river town and the housing reflects that: compact singles and twins from the first half of the twentieth century near Route 44 and Broad Street, then postwar blocks behind them, then a thinner layer of newer building toward the township edges. Almost every homeowner here writes Gibbstown on an envelope and files paperwork with Greenwich Township.
We treat the two halves differently. Older stock gets attention at chimneys, sidewalls and porch roofs; postwar ranches get ventilation and eave work. Either way the replacement is permitted and inspected through the Greenwich Township construction office under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.
