Four mangrove islands, dredged and joined
The Isles of Capri are four mangrove islands bought in 1955, dredged and connected by Capri Boulevard, sitting off Collier Boulevard just north of Marco Island and largely inside Rookery Bay. It is a boating and fishing community with heavy dock and canal frontage and a strong seasonal swing in population.
Every property here is on or near the water, which makes salt the governing factor. Fixings and flashing corrode long before a covering wears out, and access on narrow island streets needs planning rather than improvising.
