McGregor takes its name from the boulevard that runs through it, the royal-palm-lined road that gives Fort Myers its City of Palms nickname. The community sits between the Caloosahatchee on the northwest and Cypress Lake to the southeast, with Iona beyond it toward the causeway.
The housing here skews older and more affluent than the belt around it, with a median age near fifty-seven, and it includes some of the established Gulf-access neighbourhoods. That combination means more tile, more waterfront, and more owners weighing an upgrade rather than a like-for-like replacement.
