Repairs, replacements and free inspections for Hernando Beach, along Shoal Line Boulevard and the canal isles.
Hernando Beach was dug out as a canal community between 1959 and 1965, with deep canals running straight out to the Gulf. Around eight hundred and seventy homes sit along Shoal Line Boulevard and the isle drives, at a median elevation of about seven feet. Nearly two thirds are second homes or rentals rather than primary residences.
This is the most exposed place in Hernando County by a distance. Helene put roughly eight feet of surge through here in September 2024 and the water rose about a foot every fifteen minutes. Idalia flooded it the year before and Hermine in 2016 before that. Roofing here has to assume the next one is coming.

Canal on one side, Gulf on the other. Fasteners and flashing go long before the covering does.
Nothing stands between these roofs and open water. Edges and ridges take the uplift first.
Surge works the structure from underneath while wind works the roof from above. Both need checking.
Pier-founded houses put the roof higher into faster air. That changes the fastening spec.

Yes, and it is the thing most people skip after a surge event. Water arriving from below and wind working from above are two separate kinds of damage, and a roof that did not leak during the storm can still have lifted and reseated. Finding it now is far cheaper than finding it next season.
Properly specified metal with corrosion-resistant fasteners is the natural answer here, but the specification matters more than the product name. Salt reaches the fixings and the flashing before it touches the covering, and that is where most roofs on this coast actually fail.
It does not change the roof covering itself, but it can affect how much repair work you can do before elevation rules come into play, which is worth establishing before a large job. We check where you stand before anything is priced.
Yes. An estimate costs you nothing and carries no obligation. If the roof has years left, we will say so.
