Local Roofing In Montgomery County

Sixty-two municipalities, sixty-two codes offices

Montgomery County holds about every roof the mid-Atlantic produces. Stone colonials and slate-era twins line the Main Line through Ardmore and Bryn Mawr. Norristown runs to dense brick rowhomes with low-slope rear sections. Lansdale and Pottstown carry 1880s borough housing, while Blue Bell, King of Prussia and Collegeville fill in with postwar ranches, 1980s colonials and wide builder roofs with long valleys.
We replace and repair all of it. Architectural asphalt as the default, natural or synthetic slate where the original roof was slate, cedar where cedar belongs, standing seam on porches and bays, EPDM or TPO on flat sections. Free inspections, no upselling, an honest read. Permits go through your township or borough codes office, and we close them out.

Roofing In Montgomery County

Freeze-thaw is this county's real roof problem.

Water freezes at the eaves, backs up under the shingles and finds the deck, and the cause is usually attic ventilation and insulation rather than the roof covering itself.

24/7 emergency leak and tarp response.

Ice dams at eaves

Ice-and-water underlayment at eaves and valleys, plus the attic venting that stops the dam forming.

Slate and cedar

Original slate and cedar roofs get matched, repaired or replaced in kind where that makes sense.

Wind and hail claims

Nor’easters and summer hail drive most storm claims here, and we document damage honestly.

Municipal permits

Pennsylvania roof permits are township or borough, never county, and we pull and close them.

Montgomery County FAQ

Common questions

Does Montgomery County issue the roof permit, or does my township?

Does Montgomery County issue the roof permit, or does my township?

Your municipality does. Pennsylvania roof permits run through the township or borough codes office under the Uniform Construction Code, so Lower Merion, Upper Merion, Whitpain, Lansdale and Norristown each run their own. We pull the permit, meet the inspector and close the file, and we tell you upfront if your property sits somewhere that adds a historic review step.

All of it. Pottstown and Royersford in the west, Abington and Jenkintown in the east, north through Lansdale and Souderton, south to the Main Line. Maze has been roofing since 2006 with more than 2,700 projects completed company-wide, and Greater Philadelphia is a new market for us, so the office here is new even though the company is not.

That is algae, and it is common across the mid-Atlantic. It shows up worst on slopes that stay shaded and damp, and it stains rather than destroys, so it is rarely a reason to replace a sound roof. Most current architectural shingles carry copper-bearing granules that resist it, which matters when you do replace.

Get it looked at first. Hail bruising is often invisible from the ground and just as often smaller than an adjuster will pay out on, so an inspection tells you whether there is a claim worth opening. We document what we find, hand you the photos, and say plainly when a repair is the better answer than a replacement.
