Local Roofing In Delaware County

Small county, forty-nine codes offices

Delaware County fits forty-nine municipalities into a little more than 184 square miles, and the roofs change every few miles. Upper Darby and Lansdowne hold dense stone twins and rowhomes from the 1920s. Haverford and Springfield are brick and stone from the 1930s through the 1950s. Media’s blocks near the courthouse go back to the 1800s, and Newtown Square and Edgmont run to larger lots and newer builds.
We work the whole county in architectural asphalt, natural and synthetic slate, standing-seam metal on porches and bays, and membrane on flat sections. Every replacement gets ice-and-water at the eaves and valleys, and we look at attic ventilation before blaming the shingles. Permits go through your township or borough codes office, never the county, and we close them out.

Roofing In Delaware County

Built for Delaware County's older roofs.

Much of the county went up before 1960, which means steep pitches, tight valleys, low-slope rear additions and attics that were never vented for freeze-thaw winters.

Storm damage in Delaware County?
24/7 emergency leak and tarp response.

Ice at the eaves

Ice-and-water membrane at eaves and valleys, plus attic ventilation that stops dams forming.

Slate, real and synthetic

Sound slate gets repaired where it can be, replaced in kind or in synthetic when it cannot.

Low-slope additions

Rear additions and porch roofs take EPDM or standing-seam metal, not shingles laid nearly flat.

Township permits

Roofing permits in Pennsylvania are municipal, pulled at your township or borough codes office.

Delaware County FAQ

Common questions

Does Delaware County issue the roofing permit, or does my township?

Does Delaware County issue the roofing permit, or does my township?

Your township or borough does. Pennsylvania permits residential roofing at the municipal level under the Uniform Construction Code, so Haverford Township, Springfield Township, Upper Darby and Media Borough each run their own office with their own forms. We pull the permit for your address and close out the inspection. You do not have to chase it.

The whole county. We work Upper Darby, Drexel Hill and Havertown, across Springfield, Media and Newtown Square, and down through Ridley, Aston and Brookhaven. Maze has completed more than 2,700 projects company-wide since 2006. Greater Philadelphia is our newest market, run out of Wayne office.

Call and we schedule an inspection quickly, and sooner if water is actively coming in. Wind and hail are the storm-damage paths here, not hurricanes, so we document lifted shingles, bruising and flashing damage with photos you can hand your insurer. The inspection is free and nothing is owed if you walk away.

Algae, not dirt and not damage. It is common across the mid-Atlantic and it shows worst on north-facing slopes that stay damp. It does not take much life off the roof, so we will tell you plainly when it is cosmetic. On a replacement, algae-resistant shingles with copper granules slow it down.
