What It Is

A roofing system, not just a material

Metal roofing uses interlocking panels or metal shingles over a sealed underlayment to create a continuous, weather-tight surface. It’s one of the longest-lasting systems available, and one of the best suited to Florida’s heat, sun and storms.
From standing seam to metal tile profiles, we spec and install systems engineered for high winds, driving rain and decades of UV exposure.

The Advantages

The advantages of a metal roof

Exceptional longevity

40–70 years of service, often two to three times the life of asphalt shingles.

Wind & storm resistance

Interlocking panels rated for the high winds of Florida’s hurricane season.

Energy efficiency

Reflective finishes cut heat gain and can lower cooling costs in summer.

Low maintenance

No granule loss and minimal upkeep. Occasional inspections keep it performing.

Fire resistance

Non-combustible Class A materials for added protection.

Modern curb appeal

Clean lines and a range of profiles and finishes that lift property value.

System Options

Metal systems we install

Different profiles for different budgets, roof pitches and looks.

Standing seam

Concealed-fastener panels with raised vertical seams, the premium, weather-tight profile.

Metal shingle & tile

The durability of metal in a profile that mimics shingle or tile looks.

Ribbed & 5V panel

Exposed-fastener panels, a cost-effective, proven Florida classic.

Built For Florida

Engineered for the climate here.

Metal is one of the best-performing systems for Florida, but only when it’s specified and fastened for local conditions. That’s what we do.

Hurricane winds

Wind-rated panels and fastening for HVHZ requirements.

Driving rain

Sealed seams shed water fast, even in heavy storms.

Heat & UV

Reflective coatings resist fade and cut attic heat.

Salt air

Corrosion-resistant alloys and coatings for the coast.

Installation

How we install a metal roof

01

Inspection & measure

We assess the deck, pitch and details, and take precise measurements.

02

System & finish selection

Choose the profile, color and finish; we confirm the code-compliant spec.

03

Tear-off & underlayment

Old roof removed, deck repaired as needed, high-temp underlayment installed.

04

Panel install

Panels set, seamed and fastened to manufacturer and wind-load spec.

05

Flashing, inspect & clean

Trim and flashing finished, final inspection, magnetic nail sweep.

Maintenance is minimal, not zero.

Periodic inspections of fasteners, sealant and flashing keep the warranty valid and the roof performing for its full life.

Good To Know

Before you choose metal

A few honest points so you know what to expect.

Higher upfront cost

Metal costs more than shingles initially, but its lifespan often makes it cheaper over time. Financing is available.

Rain sound

With proper underlayment and decking, a modern metal roof is no louder than other systems.

Installation matters most

Metal’s performance depends on correct fastening and detailing. This is not a system for inexperienced crews.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does a metal roof last in Florida?

How long does a metal roof last in Florida?

Most metal roofs last 40–70 years depending on the system and finish, often two to three times the life of asphalt shingles, even in Florida’s harsh sun and storms.

Yes. Properly installed metal systems are among the most wind-resistant available, with panels and fastening rated for high-velocity hurricane-zone wind loads.

Not with a modern install. Solid decking and quality underlayment mean a metal roof is no louder than shingle or tile in heavy rain.

Reflective and cool-roof-rated finishes reflect solar heat and can reduce attic temperatures and summer cooling costs.

The upfront cost is higher, but the much longer lifespan and lower maintenance often make metal more economical over time. Financing is available.

In some cases, yes, but we usually recommend a tear-off to inspect the deck and install fresh underlayment. We’ll advise based on your roof’s condition.
