Repairs, replacements and free inspections for Bayshore Gardens, between US 41 and Sarasota Bay.
Bayshore Gardens was built on former tomato fields from 1956, and the original models were all drawn by one architect. Four hundred homes were up by the spring of 1958, selling between eight and fifteen thousand dollars. In 2014 a University of Florida effort began documenting them as one of the most significant collections of mid-century residential architecture in the state.
That is a nice thing to own and a specific thing to roof. These houses are concrete block with shallow pitches and flat sections over carports, Florida rooms and additions. They were not built for the roof coverings we have now, and the detailing at those transitions is where they leak.

Usually yes. Low and shallow-pitch roofs on these houses can be re-covered sympathetically, and the profile matters more to the look than the product name does. Tell us what you are trying to preserve and we will quote to it rather than defaulting to whatever is quickest.
Frequently, yes. On these houses the low-slope sections are a separate system from the main roof and can be addressed on their own. What matters is the detail where the two meet, and that is the first thing we look at.
The district runs the marina, pool and recreation facilities and levies its annual assessment. It is not an architectural review board in the way a deed-restricted HOA is. If anything does apply to your property we will find it before quoting.
Yes. An estimate costs you nothing and carries no obligation. If the roof has years left, we will say so.
