Roebling’s company-built village of twins and rowhouses, plus Florence’s older riverfront blocks. Shared walls and low-slope rears define the work.
Florence Township holds two distinct villages. Florence sits on the Delaware with older riverfront blocks and a RiverLINE stop. Roebling was laid out from 1905 as a company town for the John A. Roebling’s Sons steel mill, a grid of twins and rowhouses built for mill workers, and much of that village still stands and is still lived in. Bustleton and Florence Station fill in behind them.
Attached housing changes the job. Where one roof ends and the next begins has to be terminated and flashed properly, and neighbors rarely reroof in the same year. Rear additions and back sheds are usually low-slope and take membrane rather than shingle. Permits are filed with the Florence Township construction office under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.
The full Maze Roofing range, residential and commercial, from the local team.
Shingle, tile, metal and flat roofing for homes and townhomes across the area.
Shingle, tile, metal, flat and TPO. Managed from tear-off to cleanup.
Flat, TPO and metal systems, with maintenance programs that protect the asset.
Storm damage, active leaks and fallen trees, with 24/7 phone response.
On a row, water does not respect a property line, and a failed termination at a party wall often shows up inside the house next door instead of yours.
Where two roofs meet, the flashing and counterflashing decide who ends up wet.
Back additions and sheds need EPDM or TPO, not shingle carried too flat.
Century-old plank sheathing needs checking, and sometimes an overlay, before new shingles.
Roebling and Florence addresses are both permitted by the Florence Township construction office.
Same office, same crews, a short drive away.

No. Roebling is an unincorporated village and census place inside Florence Township, so the township construction office issues the permit and performs the inspection under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Same for Florence, Bustleton and Florence Station. Nothing routes through Burlington County.
That is common on a row. When one unit is reroofed, the new work has to be terminated into the neighboring roof, and if that joint was simply caulked it will fail. We rebuild the termination with proper metal on our side and make sure water is directed out rather than into the seam.
Not bad, just old. Plank sheathing from the early 1900s holds fasteners fine when it is sound, but the gaps between boards have widened and individual planks may be cupped or rotted near the eaves. We replace what is bad and sometimes overlay the whole deck so the new shingles lie flat.
A single-ply membrane, typically EPDM or TPO, rather than shingle. Those rear additions sit at a pitch that will not shed water reliably under shingle, and they are where most leaks in this stock originate. The transition up to the main roof gets flashed as part of the same job.
